SHOE CARE

A significant part of our collections consists of leather shoes. High-quality leather has a long lifespan and the ability to look better with time - provided you give them a little love from time to time.

A well-moisturized leather is a happy leather. It withstands harsh conditions like salted roads, rain, and snow. To make the job a bit easier for you, we've put together a small guide on how to proceed.

As with everything else, there are different paths to take, depending on what you desire for the end result.

LEATHER CARE - FOR A MATTE LOOK

You will need:

  • 1x tin of high-quality shoe grease

Remove the shoelaces
Start by removing the shoelaces; it will make the rest of the work much easier.

Clean the shoes
Do this to avoid working dirt into the leather. Dampen a sponge or another suitable cloth and wipe away all visible dirt.

Apply shoe grease
Apply the shoe grease in thin layers. Let the leather saturate for a few minutes before wearing them to avoid grease stains on your pants.

Voila, done! Not so difficult, right?

LEATHER CARE - FOR A GLOSSIER LOOK

You will need:

  • 1x tube/jar of shoe polish in your desired color

  • 1x shoe brush or nylon cloth for polishing

  • A few drops of water

Remove the shoelaces
Start by removing the shoelaces; it will make the rest of the work much more enjoyable.

Clean the shoes
If the shoes are dirty, clean them. Do this to avoid working old dirt into the leather. Dampen a sponge or another suitable cloth and wipe away all visible dirt. Apply a thin layer of shoe polish to the shoes. Let the leather saturate for a few minutes, then remove excess cream.

Polish to a shine
Sprinkle a few drops of water on the shoes and polish until the sweat shines. Repeat the process for even more shine.

Waterproof the shoes
Finish the process by spraying the shoes with an environmentally friendly waterproofing spray. Now, you're good to go.

SUEDE CARE

You will need:

  • 1x waterproofing spray

You've probably heard that suede can't handle rain and would therefore be a poor choice for winter shoes. This is a myth we'd like to dispel. It's perfectly fine to use suede shoes - in all types of weather - as long as you have protected them with a protective waterproofing spray before using them, and that's it!

Spray one round and then let the shoes sit for about 24 hours, then give them another round, and let the shoes rest for about 8 hours. After this, there's nothing stopping you. Step into the nearest mud puddle and watch the dirt run off!

Continue to spray the shoes regularly during the season. If you see that the shoes are starting to absorb moisture, it's high time to give them another round.

If you'd like to take it one step further, a suede brush is a wise investment. With the suede brush, you rough up the suede texture and remove surface dirt.

There you go, it wasn't so difficult, was it? Taking care of your shoes not only gives you a pair of shoes with a unique look but also does the environment a great service!
